Anyone upgrading to Windows 10?


 
I had read on a 'puter site that when it asks for the older vers key, there is a miniscule box lower left screen that says SKIP. It finished his install without inputting the key at any time (he experienced the same code rejection you did when he did enter it). His win 10 up and ran just fine without the old key.

I tried that too, right after the first clean install, thinking that win10 would be smart enough to convert it, but then I read that your code needs to be converted via the upgrade, & then the clean install would work. It didn't for me, but I was able to clear out >220gb of trash that I wasn't able to delete manually. (I'm not a big gamer, but I've installed a lot of video games on this HTPC)
 
Some equip plays nice with Uncle Bill and some don't. I'm waiting in any case as 7 is working just fine here.
