Anyone start a Butt L&S, then go HH?

Need to replenish my pulled pork supply, so I've got a butt thawing for tomorrow.

I want to try it high heat on the WSM, and wondered if it would help to go 225/250 for a couple of hours first, then kick it up to 325/350.

Sorry if this has been discussed before.
There's so much info (a good thing) on here that sometimes it's hard to find specifics.
 
Bob,not a problem. I was doing a butt one time,then went to do an eye of round as a second. The eye roast does better at HH,so I opened up the vents for the last couple hours. Butt was beautiful and tender and the eye roast was pretty yummy too! I don't remember who gave me the info when I asked,but the consensus was,go ahead.
