Anyone have the Weber grate system and the small chimney?

I was wondering if the small Weber chimney will sit flush on the charcoal grate through the hole in the System's grate.
The large chimney fits, but the handle rests on the top grate.
Works fine for starting with my Performer's gas assist, but it would be nice if the smaller one sits flush.

Just by looking at the small chimney, and having put the grate back into it's box and put away after checking to see if the new CI wok fit the grate, I would say just by eye balling it, the handle will sit on the grate as well.
If no one can answer your question, I'll go dig my grate system out again, and give you a proper answer.
 
Thanks Mary, but don't bother with checking, I'm sure someone will have an answer for me.
I was pretty sure that it would not fit flush either.

It does fit, but you have to turn it the right way in order to do so.

Positioned this way, flames from the gas assist are coming up right in the center of the mini chimney. You can spin the chimney to some degree to get the flames to hit front, back, left or right of center as well.
 
My performer has been religated to starting coals and a work table for my WSM. THe mini fits perfect in the center section of the grill system. Be sure to wear welding gloves when removing the mini though it gets darn hot!
 
I have the small one i love it. Perfect for small cooks and med ones as well. The large is sometimes clumsy you'll like it
