Anyone ever use Ash chunks for a cook?

Howdy folks, I had a large ash tree taken down a couple years ago and don't recall hearing anyone using it for a smoke. Anyone tried it? It works great in the fireplace!

Hi, Ash is very similar to oak. We had an ash tree cut down a couple years ago and I'm still using the wood for fireplace and smoker.

I have never used ash to smoke with. I have had several people tell me they have though. There have been links to a few smoke wood species posted here over the years and I have seen ash on a couple of them. I guess I am going to have to break down and try it. I saw a couple of logs of ash the other day I will have to nab them and try it out.
