Anyone attached an aluminum pan to bottom of top grate?

Considering attaching an aluminum pan to the bottom side of the top grate to cook ribs on both racks without having the ones on top drip on the bottom ones. I'm curious if anyone has tried this and how it affected the cooking of the ribs on both racks. My thinking is that it shouldn't have much effect but that's just a guess. I've done it with briskets, but not ribs.

Never heard of that being tried, J. I know that Harry Soo and others that foil start the ribs in rib racks for that reason.

I have racks, but I don't want anything touching the top of the ribs before foiling, even a rib rack. Obviously, I'm thinking of this for comps since no one judges how they look at home, not if they want me to cook more.;)

Wonder if Harry uses racks during his comp cooking, but once again, he is a magician on the wsm.

Read that again. Thanks. Going to try the pan at home first before trying at a comp. Really don't see why it wouldn't work.

This is what Im using and its working very well for me......
Let us know how your pan works for you if you go that way. Its always good to try new ideas.
