Any site that quotes shipping rates without knowing
the weight and dimensions of the product being shipped
is giving false information. It will likely cost $15-$20
just to buy the proper box and packing materials.

Common tactic on Marketplace. Offer shipping at some stupidly low price because they think that more people will see it and still want it. Meanwhile the person selling it either has no intention of really shipping it, or they just have no clue what the shipping will actually be.

Yah, that may not be a concious effort to deceive buyers, but they definitely will not ship that to you for $6. Besides, it lists the shipping method as First Class USPS. I think 13 oz is the limit for first class shipping USPS. It is just someone who clicked the shipping box on the FB MP listing and FB came up with that amount. Go ahead and contact the guy and ask him if he will ship for $6.

I do not like FB Marketplace compared to OfferUp, but unfortunately, they have steamrolled the competition...I really think a lot of people check the ship option box without having a clue that they did. FB then comes up with their own shipping price by some computer calculation that knows nothing about the weight and size of grills!
