Hello to All!
The long wait is almost over. Several years ago I had purchased a Performer Platinum through Amazon. Laid off the following day. Had to cancel before the order shipped. Life is now back on track. The Lowe's Memorial Day free assembly, free delivery promotion was too tempting to resist. Delivery is scheduled for tomorrow (Sunday). I have been down this road before with Lowe's. Their assembly and especially delivery, leaves a lot to be desired. The store manager has always made it right. Fingers crossed that all goes well tomorrow.
Through various incarnations of mostly charcoal and 1 gas grill I have been the family griller for burgers and rib eyes. Low and slow will be a bit of a learning curve. The plan for tomorrow is to familiarize myself with the grill by first checking for dings, dents and that it has been assembled correctly. Then, practice with some sausage (mostly heating), burgers and veggies. Veggies! I am absolutely craving grilled vegetables. My favorite cut of beef, rib eye steak, will have to wait until I feel more confident. Then, on to shrimp, chicken and ribs. The goal is to prepare Jamie Purviance's Apple-Brined Turkey with Big Time Gravy for friends when the weather cools.
Chris Allingham, thanks for your hard work and years of dedication in making the tvwbb site available. The members who share their experience and knowledge are priceless.
Off to check the accuracy of the Maverick ET-732 that has been in a box, new and unused, since before clicking Add to Cart for the original Performer purchased/cancelled at Amazon.
