Tri tip and scallops this time. I had the day off so I cooked tonight's meal on the Santa Maria Grill over some red oak logs.

Searing the tri tip

After its seared on both sides I added an artichoke to the grill.

Artichioke is ready and made a mayo, lemon juice and garlic dipping sauce and a butter and garlic dipping sauce.

My plate. Was really good but I started running out of coals toward the end so everything wasn't hot when we ate. I need to learn better fire control on this grill still. thanks for looking!!

Looks fantastic as always John! Did you pre boil that Artichioke? Would love to try a grilled one. Really dig that new grill, And if you put a weber lid on that grate i guess the radiant heat will be pretty good aswell.

Same question here John I did one on the grill and it didn't taste very good. Very Stringy and tough.

Looks good.

I steamed the artichoke until the whole thing was tender. Once steamed the artichoke is ready to eat, I just put it on the grill to get some extra flavor. This was the first time I cooked an artichoke so I went to youtube to figure out how to clean and eat them

here is the video I go the most info on.
