So, Pammi and I have had a cast iron wok for several years. Works great, but soooo heavy.

All the cooking shows that I watch, all the cooks use a carbon steel wok, so I told Pammi that I wanted to get one. She was okay with this.
She saw this on Facebook yesterday and made an offer, which was accepted!
We picked it up today. The young lady said that she only used it once and used lime away to clean it!

But, with some elbow grease and a little bit of time, it now looks like this!

Pammi is using it to make stir fry tonight!

That stirfry looks great! Are those homemade noodles?

Do you have a pointer to the recipe? Thanks!

Yes, Pammi made those noodles. Not sure the recipe she used.
And the recipe is on Facebook. Search for Chef John, braised pork belly noodles. There isn't a written recipe. We have to start, pause and rewind the stinking video to make it!

Phil, looks like you got a great find! A couple years ago, I came across a 20” plow disc propped up against a mans storage building. I took it home for a few bucks, and went straight to a friends house that does all my welding for me. He filled in the bolt holes and added 2 handles. I guess their called a cowboy wok, I call it freakin awesome! I’ve done entire breakfasts on it while camping, but it’s main duty so far is stir fry like Pami made. Great find, and it cleaned up great as well..

I've heard of the cowboy wok. Nice find!

Uggh, don’t you hate that. Is this Chef John from China? I’m familiar with Chef John of FoodWishes.

I guess that's the one.

Oh yeah, the cast iron one is gone already! Put it on LetGo and was snapped up within an hour!

Nice find Phil. We have over 10 Ci skillets, pots and Dutch ovens and use them exclusively for almost everything we cook. But now that I'm in my 70s I find that they are getting heavier every time I use them. Been looking at some carbon steel replacements at least for a couple of skillets. The CI Dutch ovens I will keep for sure as I make my bread in those.

Props to Pammi, that stir fry looks perfect.

Here's a link to Americas Test Kitchen review of some carbon steel pans. A lot of good information.

Man, I hope that's not a problem for me. I don't want to give up any of my Le Creuset dutch ovens.

A friend of mine introduced me to Wagner cast iron skillets. Wow, that's very light compared to Lodge. It's amazing.
