And Hoppin' Johns for the black eyed peas course!

Thanks Fletch, rather extensive spinal surgery, one helluva way to start a new year! Dinner was well recieved but, she would rather be home! Now it looks like a day or three getting some rehab so she can stand up without searing pain. It’s a process for a while, things are going to take time to heal.

Wow Tim, I'm sorry to hear this. I broke my back August of 2013, the prize; 13" steel rods now accompany my spine. I can't wish her a speedy recovery, I know better, however I strongly suggest that when she's cleared to walk, take her for walks as often as you can. With each step I could feel my back get stronger, recovering from a broken back is one of the few things I did right in life. Wish her the best, and that's some good eats you made there

Thank you all.
She’s in quite a bit of pain right now still and the PT guys are talking with the surgeon trying to sort out just what is the best route to follow, she is tough as nails and no stranger to pain so, when she hurts it’s pretty severe!
I need to get out of the hospital for a few minutes and go home to pet the cat, he is NOT happy about his people being gone.

Thanks guys,
Additional CT scan this afternoon showed inflammation of the bursa in her lower back and the surgeon says that the rods, screws and “cages” are all where they should be and that’s good. So, rehab for the bursitis, no mention of that time line yet or when one of the places might have a bed so, it’s still up in the air as to how long all this will take. I appreciate the prayers and good wishes, so does she. Thanks again.

It looks like it will be Monday before the rehab transfer will happen. I just don’t see any insurance company doing anything for anyone after business hours on Friday.
Thanks everyone for the well wishes and prayers.
Her transfer from bed to chair this afternoon was better but far from comfortable. She didn’t draw blood or swing at the staff but, it wasn’t pretty.
I did get her to laugh a little and she liked the applesauce I made so, I did something right.
