ChuckO, you sneaking in after business hours? The Walmarts I go to never have lines that short at the cash register.

The secret to shopping at wally world, is get your shopping done by 8AM. We usually hit WW at about 6:30AM and are out of there by 7:15AM/7:30AM - bring your camping gear if you show up after 9AM, you're gonna be there awhile

I was giving Jim a bad time about this monster, but I have to admit, the infrared is interesting. This beast however had cheap written all over it, it lacked in every way, but in idea

Usually after they go thru a couple of Charbroils they figure out that they spent more than just buying a Weber to start with.
But they got what they deserved.

Infrared cooking is a tricky subject. Infrared grills came out in the 60's, but got quickly adopted on the restaurant side. Mainly steak houses. The one advantage to Infrared is it's intense heat. Charcoal grills will peak around 650. Gas 750. Infrared 950. The problem with it, it doesn't work well at all on the medium to low side. On most residential highend ranges like Wolf and Thermador. They offer a "Infrared grill" on there 48 and 60inch ranges. No adjustment. It's either on or off. Great for steaks. Terrible for roasted veggies or kielbasa. Now, I've sold a few lynxs infrared that were pretty impressive, but doesn't justify the cost. Kalamazoo makes a pretty angry infrared, but I think they disco it and went with there hybrid system. Most people are under they impression that since it's infrared. It must cook better.

If that BBQ got 950 degrees, it would fall apart at the seams, LOL it's definitely a "get what you paid for" unit. Didn't rattle Jim's cage much, gonna have to try harder :)
