Almost new WSM owner

Hi guys,

Let me introduce myself, i am Rik from Rotterdam, Netherlands. Long time eater, new to waiting hours for it. Bbq'ing is popular here but not many here are into the 'art' of it. Adding marinade pretty much makes you a chef. If you don't burn all the meat you can bbq. Smoking we do here but not the meat so to say

Anyway, last week I was introduced to serious bbq'ing by a mate. Never tasted a better piece of pork. Was pretty much clear right from that bite I had to get into that. Once properly hung over I spent a day watching videos and googling. Got pretty close ordering a WSM 14.5 last night but got some small things I need to figure out (balcony, neighbours, smoke)

Wanted to finish this with some joke about quiting smoking (cigarettes) but that must be old here

All welcome, Rik! This place is full of people who know their stuff and enjoy sharing it. It's a great place! I'm a Heineken man. I'll bet it sooo good over there! :)

John, I prefer 'hertog jan' over Heineken. Always funny how Heineken is premium all over and here its the most standard/ boring beer :)
 
My brother is the brew master for the local(and growing rapidly)micro brewery. I like heine' for a bottled beer. Now if we could only get other things from that region , we'd be all set! Lol
 
Welcome to the group Rik. Hope you work out your balcony issue maybe you can set it up on the ground in a common area of your apartment? Or move?
