Advice on a mustard sauce

Quick question -- If I plan on using a mustard sauce on ribs, should this just be on the table, or is it better to also glaze the ribs one or twice with the sauce while they are on the cooker?

I've never had mustard sauce on ribs, I love it though with PP. There is no reason why a mustard sauce would not work either way, just depends on everybody's taste. Check out Roxy's Mustard Sauce on this and other sites.

Not done it myself but mustard and pork is a great one.

Found this that i had held for a few years. Makes a great dipping one. Dunno about glazing with it. But im sure it will do the jobb if done the last 10 min,.

Mustard Vinegar Sauce

1 cup apple cider vinegar
1/2 cup Yellow mustard
1/4 cup onion finely minced
2 cloves garlic pureed
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon Tabasco sauce

Combine ingredients and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

For a smoother sauce, blend on high for a few minutes.

Thanks for the recipe. I was looking at something like this online, but might try this instead.

Not sure if I like mustard sauce or not -- never tried it -- but I figured I'd give it a try this weekend as I'm looking for something new to do. Plus, I'm not a huge fan of sweet and syrupy. This looks like the perfect vinegary tang my taste buds crave.

I slather my pork ribs with yellow mustard then rub with my standard pork rub.
I don't sauce my ribs, I serve them dry.

I agree with the Roxy Sauce, the stuff can be down right addictive on pulled pork but just one word of warning, do not stick your head over the pan for a sniff. The above recipe is Roxy's

Roxy says

"you can use the sauce as a slather and a glaze.. It works out pretty darn good on ribs. I like to add a wee bit of honey if using it for a glaze."

I like this one - I have some in my fridge right now..... great stuff.

Miss Piggy Mustard Sauce

Plain old yellow mustard FLOODED with red pepper flakes is also good to me when I don't have the time or desire to make the above.

Use the yellow sauce just like any other bbq sauce as a finishing sauce for the ribs. Also I do not add any cider vinegar to my yellow sauce. It has enough vinegar already in the mustard. Use it like anyother bbq sauce. In SC it is one of our main sauces.
