ABT cook times

I have made ABTs a few times but didn't keep a cook log. It has been a while and I don't remember how long they take. I was thinking about an hour at 250, but I am not sure. How long to you cook yours and at what temp.

1 hour @ 250° is about right.
Just until the bacon is crisp.

I also find an hour or a bit longer is good. My brother in law cooks them for a couple of hours so they are pretty dark, which also melts everything together and gives a different taste/texture.

Just to give you another data point, last night we ended up with a fresh chimney of briquettes covering half of a 22.5" kettle along with a couple of big chunks of dry wood when we were ready to put the ABTs on. Even with the bottom vent almost closed the temps were over 500F - I think the ABTs cooked in 20-30 minutes and were about 90% as good as what you get with a longer slower cook. I wouldn't cook them that way if I had alternatives but it'll probably be useful to know some day.

It was one of those enjoyable "cooking with close friends" evenings where everyone helps and everyone assumes someone else is probably doing the thinking

I find that almost 2 hours at 250 seems to be good. A lot of people don't like the peppers crunchy and I when I wrap them, it usually is like a double wrap of bacon so it takes longer to crisp. Don't forget about Moinks! The prep on those is 1/5th of ABTs.
