I can't seem to get my remote to show the temp of my grill. I'm only using one probe (the smoker end)

Its only showing a flashing 3 dashes with the Farenheit symbol for smoker.

I'm taking Larry Wolfe's advice and placing my wire gently under the cover. I can see the temperature from this remote which btw was well off from the cover temperature. Which also worries me now.

Regardless, any ideas how to get this remote to work ?

The instructions are not that intuitative but i've followed them to a tee and I still get flashing Farenheit symbols on the remote.

any suggestions ?

thx

You are turning on the receiver first, yes? Turning the transmitter on within 60 secs thereafter?

And do you have the probe plugged into the correct jack? I'd plug both in and start over and see what you get.

did that and same thing.. nothing but flashing dashes.. so I'll see about Jerry N's solution

Turn both units off and remove batteries. Then install batts.in both and turn on reciever first then xmitter. I had the same problem and this resolved it.
