A Side By Side Comparison That Was No Contest!

Pammi Volunteered my grilling services at her principals birthday party tonight. It was held at the assistant principals new house. I was asked to bring my grill,as the AP's grill was kind of small. Imagine my surprise when the AP wheeled out her shiny new Char Broil TruInfrared electric grill!

I kid you no,she had to plug her grill in!
And in this corner,the undisputed king of the grill,the Weber 22.5" OTS!

Seriously,it was no contest at all! Hers was plugged in for about a half an hour,about the time it took for mine to get good and hot. I loaded them both up with burgers,and let 'em cook. By the time the ones on mine were ready to flip,hers had barely made a dent. I flipped them just to make sure they were cooking. If you call turning them grey cooking,I gues it did the job! Needless to say,I cooked three batches on the Weber,AND finished up the 'lectric ones!
Also,people were facinated by the chimney! No one had seen one before! Simply amazing!

Phil, I am in shock. I thought the south was the home of BBQ. Just goes to show that educators are not always well educated. I would also wonder how they had never seen a chimney. I have probably had four in the last ten years. Some were given away to relatives. Sounds like you did us all proud.

It really looks like a toy compared to the Weber. And i bet the taste was alot different aswell,Sour bout those hwo got the redhead burgers.

@John,no pics of the inside the "red head ". It had a non stick,wide corrugated cooking grate over a big electric coil. Pretty sad actually.

It doesnt suprise me that these people have never seen a Weber chimney or that they cook on an electric "grill". Sometimes we forget that this wonderful world of BBQ and Grilling that we love so dearly is not shared by everyone. Hard to believe I know but it is so.
