A little background to this story....last summer when I was buying my WSM I had the Lady of the house with me and she was eyeing all of the new gas grills, up until that point we had an old gasser that she would use about twice a month. I couldn't afford both the WSM and a Weber gasser so we purchased another brand that looked cool and had a searing station yada...yada...yada. At the time I told her I could never love this grill like my Webers and I didn't I never purchased the proper cover, just used the one from the old one and it never really fit.
Well that grill lasted one summer and she start complaining that it wouldn't heat up and the "searing" station never really worked. So I spent a few hours cleaned it up really nice and listed it on C/L as ready to cook, and I would even deliver within in a certain range. Sold the grill within an hour for the asking price of $140.00 a little under half of what I paid for it.
I daily check C/L for Webers and I've scored a few grills. Friday afternoon I was checking and found an add for a Spirit E310 brand new for $400.00. The story was is that a young couple had won the grill in a raffle and they lived in an apartment without a deck or yard. I left work early hustled over to their place with $400.00 cash, and now I have the perfect Mother's day present. She is very happy with the grill and can't wait to use it.
On the way home I stopped and picked up the correct cover and new tank.
