5V regulator sub-board legs (IC1)

Working on assembling my first heatermeter. After I solder in the 5V regulator sub-board (IC1) do I cut the legs shorter or just leave them 'long'?

its better to cut everything short. as to minimize the chance of a short.

Thanks for the quick reply. I have already cut the legs of all of the other components (resistors, caps, etc.) shorter after soldering, just wasn't certain on this this one since it is 'thicker' material.

I've never cut the legs on the 5V regulator. They're so short and thick it doesn't seem worth the trouble.
