$56 mistake

I was in a hurry yesterday and tried moving my 18" WSM in a wheelbarrel. The top 2/3 of were standing upright with the CC bowl in the front of a wheelbarrel, going to my shed. Hit a root, CC bowl flew forward, and of course landed on a random stepping stone. And also landed on the lip, bending/denting it really bad.

Just called Weber, and it's $56 for a new one. Guess I will use the old CC bowl for something?

Now that I think of it, it's actually a $72 mistake because my clay base I use in my 22" was also in there, and it broke as well and that was $16

On a side note, I will be finishing my grill area tonight with pavers so that the WSMs will no longer be moved to/from the shed.

Josh, ouch. Sorry for your loss.

Isn't it true that, generally speaking, EXPOSED roots....well, they suck.

Unless they have a reason to be above the ground, like cypress knees...they really oughta stay in the ground where they belong...and avoid getting tripped over, hit with mower blades, and yes, getting cursed by wheel barrow drivers.

We just moved into this house, and if I already hadn't planned to take the tree down, I would be after this out of anger. It's a pine tree (ever worse) so it serves no purpose, it's next to the house and it's roots are currently in my way from putting sidewalk from the front to the back yard.

Got my new charcoal bowl yesterday, and it was damaged (in shipping) worse than the one I dropped! They are sending out a new one 2 day.

So now I have a 2 damaged 18" charcoal bowls, 1 of which is new, and a 22" middle section (Mine was way out of round, so they sent a new one). How to make a mutant WSM out of these....

Sounds to me like you need a drum that fits the two 18"bases to make a center section, and a 22.5 kettle grill for that 22.5 center.

Looks like two mutant WSMs in the making...

Shawn, I like the way you think.

I can use the 22" midsection on my performers.

Now to just find me a drum that fits on the 18" bowls.
