Hi y'all, I´m preparing my 40th birthday party two weeks from now. I´m gonna smoke a bunch of pork buts. So my question is, I have 4, 4kg pork buts and is it recommended to smoke them all at once or should I do it in two turns.

If i do them all at once will it take longer than doing just two of them?

Thx

I really only noticed about a 10% increased cooking time for 3 or more butts...

I have started cutting the butts in half if I know time is limited..

If you can fit them in the smoker you should do them all at once. It's far more efficient and the product will be just as good. It will take slightly longer but it's hardly noticeable.

I did an event a couple weeks ago, and I did 6 at once. 4 is the norm for me, so you're more than fine doing 4. Two on top, two on bottom, you're ready to roll. Stand them up in the bone side (it it's cut flat) and they won't tip over either.

I´ve seen that some inject and some don´t what would you recommend ?

I've done both ways, and I don't see a huge difference. The main goal I'm trying to achieve when injecting a butt is to get some salt on the inside of the meat, since the rub really only seasons the outside. I usually cut back in the amount of salt in the rub when I do that, to make sure it doesn't end up too salty.
