26in Weber Fire Butler chicken thighs

This is a little clip of the 26 Weber kettle using the Fire Butler. This is the first time I used it in this manner... high heat perimeter indirect @ aprox 425. I placed aprox 3/4 chimney half lit opened the vents wide open chicken thighs around the perimeter and let it eat. They took aprox 40 min. I had a little grease fire in the ash catcher for a moment.

May I suggest you to foil all the charcoal grate and THEN cut the foil just in the bottom of the vortex or Fire Butler ?
Try thos setup andyou will keep your kettle much cleaner and no fire.
 
Thanks. It really isn't a issue. I was just lazy and did not empty my ash catcher and a little bit of grease on the bottom caught fire and fed up To the Grate. It no longer has a charcoal grate With the fire Butler system It has a mounting plate That has laser Cuts in it And the fire box fit in a square hole through that You can not block off The holes in the mounting plate Or it would not get air to the bottom of the Firebox
