2023 BBQ Season

We’re off to a good start in the 2023 KCBS Backyard Ribs Rankings…


We don’t travel too far, so our next competition isn’t until March in Altoona, Iowa. We will be in Westmont, IL in May, Morris, IL in June, and Eureka, IL in July. Those are the KCBS competitions we are in so far, but we also do a few local non-sanctioned events.

In addition to our Gateway drum, we’re still using our WSM 18! It’s our chicken king!


If any of you are in the area of our events; please stop by and visit! I’ll post more as the events get closer, and will be sure to post pics of how our WSM is performing!

WSM Makeover

My 18 is getting a makeover today... From now on I'll be using the high heat method on this one!

Please note that it's really not made to work with the baked enamel and could not be powder coated.
I store and transport them in boxes to limit the scratching.
There is a separate posting on my painting of the Gateway.
