A few quick questions.

Need to replace the brackets that hold up the Bottom Tray, any source for such? is this what I see called "Z Brackets"? If it is I can't find them at RCPlaners store.

Do you try and clean off the grease from the insides of the aluminum before hitting it with the wire wheel?

Any need to strip the outsides of the aluminum before painting, or is just removing the grease sufficient? How long does the high temp paint last? is it even worth painting?

Thanks
Bob

Are you talking about the rails that hold the drip pan (the one that slides in/out of the firebox)? If so then it's part number WEBER 97783. Just google that part number and you should find some places to purchase it from.

As far as grease, I pretty much skip the wire wheel and soak it with Member's Mark Oven, grill and fryer cleaner, scrub it, then power wash it.

1 more question. The bug screens (little round snap on cages) are made of plastic on this one, is there a source for the original metal ones?

Actually, the plastic ones ARE the originals. If you look at the section here on TVWBB that has old brochures you can see the 1990 brochure that describes them.

If those burners happen to still be good they are probably made of higher grade stainless than a new set, and they might be worth saving. On the newer burners the metal screen is an integral part of the whole burner assembly.

Thanks Jon, the burners look and work fine, just melted one of the plastic bug cages.
