I butterflied a fryer this afternoon, rubbed it with Tex-Joy and put it on the bottom grate with no water in a foil wrapped pan. On the top rack was 5 links of good italian sausage and some cabbage.

All four of us devoured the chicken. Very good.

The cabbage was beyo9nd this world good. Take a head, cut it into quarters, wrap in foil with a big slice of onion and a large pat of butter. takes about 30 minutes on a 250 degree bullet.

I loaded up two chimneys and fired em both up. Poured em in the ring and it ran up to about 300 with all vents open. It was about 60 degrees outside.

I was pleased.

Going to cook two beer can chickens this weekend.

Welcome aboard Mikeeeeeeeeeeee.
Im glad your cook turned out great. Part of the fun is finding different things and ways of cooking on the WSM.

I admire you folks who aren't in a butt rut, and who will risk it on more than brisket. Er, that is to say, I'm definitely gonna try that cabbage, and honestly, one day I will totally bravely try poultry and other things on the sweet little WSM.
