1998 Weber Platinum HELP

Bought a 1998 Weber Platinum gasser for the office. It's in great condition but the LP tank is original and I'm afraid no will fill because it's over 10 years old. The tank is also the quick disconnect style. Does anyone know if this adapter will work on the new OPD tanks?

Weber Hose Regulator - I know this would be the best route but I really don't want to pay that much.

Thanks!

I simply replaced the nipple on my grill regulator with one I got off a craigslist special so it now uses the "normal" tanks.

I did this because I have a couple "normal" tanks and don't want to be caught with no gas (plus it's cheaper and more convenient to exchange my tanks than to refill them).

All depends if this fitting is compatible with the other half of the quick disconnect from Weber. Another option is most places that fill LP tanks will also convert your LP tank to a standard POL fitting for around $20...same price as buying the fitting. Then you just need to change the regulator so you get the other half of the POL fitting....which is about $25-$30.
