Testing the wifey’s limits with yet another grill purchase. Lol! This project will likely begin in the spring! Like most it has its ups and downs but over all I’m pleased! This is the first opportunity I’ve had at a burgundy top!! If ratings were 0 for bad 10 for great I’ll give the lid an 8. The porcelain drip pan has been replaced and is roughly 5 years old I’ll give it a 7 for condition, the small drip pan is also relatively new and in good shape! Igniter was replaced in the spring. This grill was in service until last month when replaced. The side table dura wood has 3 pieces that have some melting damage from something hot being placed on them, other than that the dura wood is all there and in decent shape. The control panel has more fade than I would like I’d give it a 5 for fade! Little bit of cross member rust I’ll know more on that when I remove the cool box. Here’s some pictures of the grill dirty and couple where I did a quick wipe down of the lid and control panel!

I’ll come back to this post with progress once the restore begins! P.S the wife really likes the burgundy lid, so I’ll take this one as a win!!

Looks pretty nice Dave. I hope the cookbox bolt comes out easy and that crossmember isn't too bad. I probably will end up with all kinds of extra durawood slats after my current project is done, I even have a brand new durawood table for the Skyline, so hit me up if you need some nice slats. Even better, replace the durawood with real wood!

I made mine neat and tidy when I did the tuning and adjusting (I had friends that worked in that department at the old Gibson factory) so, it’s good enough for my needs until I do the SS custom frame with personalized “lift kit” to save my aching back!
