This morning I scored for $75 Canadian Dollars. A new in the box Black 22 1/2” “L” (1989) Kettle.
  1. all the original paperwork and warranty cards (in both English and French).
  2. The original bill of sale for $96 dollars with taxes.
  3. The wood handles.
  4. The delivery receipt to the original owner
The question is do I leave it in the box or assemble it?

If it were mine, I would put it together. But that's just me. If the box was pristine I might think different.

Really cool!!

List on the bbq kettle maniac weber museum international meat lovers association. Then use the profit to...
Buy another weber and a freezer full of...

Veggies 🤣.

I'd flip it for profit and just buy a new one if you want one to "destroy"/ use. If for novelty I would display it and wouldn't cook on it. That's why I couldn't get a Glen blue 26er. I wouldn't want to cook with it so I didn't buy one.

You went from should I set it up, leave it in the box to now cooking on it. I'm not even a collector and I would hate to see it used at this point. That's just me.

In the end I am really torn as to what to do. I can see keeping it in the box but put together it would look great on display next to my ‘77 kettle and ‘78 Smokey Joe

The responses here are varied as well…

As an interesting side note the original date of sale happens to have been on my 15th birthday. Crazy coincidence
