The FirePlace was another attempt by Weber to leverage expertise in metal stamping and porcelain coating to expand their product offerings in the outdoor living space. You'll notice the similarity between the fireplace "lid" and "bowl" and those of a Weber kettle, plus the use of Weber wooden handles and modified legs similar to those on the WSM.
