$0.99/lb butts at my HT

The Teeter has Hormel butts for 99 cents a pound this week. I've had mixed success with these (Hormels at Harris Teeter) but at that price I gotta move on 'em. Now, how to convince SWMBO to eat 'que for a few days.

Not sure how pure these are. I'll have to check it out in person. It has been a while since I bought any of these but I'm thinking they were not enhanced.

i don't believe they are enhanced. and the HT's here have them for .79/lb

. i will be doing at least 4 saturday night into sunday. too good a deal to not do as many as possible.

Went by the Teeter this afternoon and, once I was satisfied that they weren't enhanced (nothing on the Hormel packaging that led me to believe otherwise), I bought 4. The ol' ball and chain is going to grumble a bit. We have a friend visiting from North Dakota next week and we wanted to feed him 'que while he is here. So, I was given permission, er, uh, I mean asked to buy one for the weekend after this. My story will be (she's out of town tonight) that I need to practice so I don't disappoint our guest and send him back thinking that Sloppy Joe's (they call 'em Slush burgers up there) are the cat's pajamas of cook out food. Wish me luck.

Heck @ 99/lb tell her you were saving money, and dont have to buy any for the next cook or so. At least you didnt buy a case of briskets that were on sale.

i just got 4 butts@ .79/lb. 34 pounds of butt for under 27 dollars before tax. you just cannot beat that. i got all the 7-9# ones they had. the rest were 6# and down.

That's a pretty good haul. I guess you too found that they weren't enhanced. I think I'll get one or two of mine going overnight to practice a lunchtime feed.

i was pretty sure they weren't enhanced from last time they had them on sale. the only time i go to HT is when butts are on sale

I froze two of the four I bought and will cook them this weekend. As Tony C. pointed out, the commercial packaging is pretty stout. If I had wrapped them myself, I would want to use them up fairly quickly.
