Aftermarket regulator?

I need a new regulator (or at minimum a new coupling nut) because I picked up a genesis with an extremely outmoded connector. Is there any real difference between the Weber branded ones and the $10 aftermarket ones I see on Amazon. At 1/3 the cost, I’m definitely inclined to get the cheaper version unless the more expensive is that much better.

And it makes sense to replace the whole thing rather than just the coupling nut, because the regulators get old after a while, right?

There is the opinion that the older ones, usually Italian-made, last a lot longer than the new Chinese imports. I don't have any objective evidence to offer.

Yes replace the whole thing if you ask me and they work fine for like 10 bucks on amazon if you have the old quick connect to get to the new connection you need this connection:

Bruce found this one they appear to be the same but the first one is cheaper.

On the male end use https://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000BKXGXM/tvwb-20

Nothing on the female side just use the connector from the propane hose and regulator.

I'm not exactly sure what I have, which is part of why i want to replace it. Instead of any of the connections I've seen before, the regulator has what looks to be a quick connect like you'd use with air tools. The tank has a fitting for that, just like a compressor hose would have.
