Yep....Another Genesis redhead restoration

Here's Ole Red, she was born in 1997, recently acquired and restored. She has stainless Flavorizer bars and cast iron grates. I have seasoned the grates and cooked a number of different things on her already. Huge difference from my Silver B, more even heat and no flare ups! I think the additional flavorizer bars make a difference and the cast iron is much nicer to cook on than the SS I have in the B. Since this pic was taken I have sanded down the front of the emblem so the name and icon are shiny now. I am still searching for the front panel that goes in front of the manifold area. They are no longer available, so I am thinking of making one myself so she will be complete.

Looks good! Done a few Bs and 1000s my self, agree with you the 13 FBs make difference over the 5 in the Bs. I have the same grill 1997 1000LX as yours except mine is green bought it new in 1997.
 
Looks terrific! I just finished a restore on my 1985 Genesis 3, now I don't think I want to get rid of it.
