I want help putting together a list of spices that we use most often for rubs. And where to go, I thought of Penseys and Sage Spice was recommended. I read good quality salt and pepper ect... makes a difference. I started a list but don't want to forget anything.

Whats your list and place? I just need amounts for a backyard guy.

I'm slowly bolstering my spice supply.
Going for larger quantities and looking for best prices.

For anything Asian in origin, my local Asian market beats everybody on choice, quality and price.....period.

McCormick's "Gourmet" line is worth a look.
Large containers, I'm looking at a Chili Powder container here that is 20 oz.

Tradewinds is another and I've got a Paprika container here that is 11 oz.

I purchased both of those at a local restaurant supply.

The Mexican markets around here have their dried peppers priced at around 30% the cost that you get at the regular grocery store, & the packages are bigger.

Ancho
Guajillo
Pasiila
Chipotle
Green Peppercorns
Red Peppercorns

I order from Silk Road. I also get:

Chicago Steak Spice
Jerk Spice
African Citrus Spice
Ethiopean Berbere
Cajun Spice
Argentinian Cimichurri

The first are for rubs, the second are rubs in themselves.

Late may be too late :)

Thanks everybody I did use Penzey's this time and was happy. Next time who knows there are several good ones it looks like.
