    First post and First Smoke!

Congrats... just did my first two sessions myself... half chickens and then ribs plus some extras like beans and almonds... yum! I want to try a brisket now...

    Just jumped over the cliff....

I'm using my new 18.5 on a paver patio and that has been fine... my biggest issue is the wind. Also in northern VA!

    Wind fears

Just wanted to say thanks for all the suggestions. Some good ideas to be sure. For now I am just moving it to a safe place and taking it out on calm days. Did 2 sessions so far... one for BBQ chicken and homemade sauce, then smoking raw almonds after... second session was pig candy, 3 racks...

    Wind fears

Yeah I just can't think of any other way to feel safe about it. I just stepped outside and the wind was going about 25 mph. Moved the smoker to a wall for support for now. The paver is way too heavy to flip over for cleaning but maybe I can find a lighter weight one for this purpose before I...

    Wind fears

Just set up my new 18.5 wsm on the patio and it went great. However, I'm starting to get very paranoid about safety... We have a constant wind back there which goes west-east pretty much all day, every day. Every month or so we get a huge gust of wind that sends my genesis a few inches or feet...

I need a cover for my Genesis

I need a cover for my Genesis

It's been outside in the direct sun / weather for less than a year. It did blow around the patio a couple of times when it got windy, but it's in really bad shape. The top layer of material (vinyl I guess) is shredded, cracked and torn in many places.

    Weber Grill Handle Light

I have one on my Genesis and it's bright enough. I think two on a wider Summit-style grill would be fine.

    Roadside Chicken

I made this last night. Everyone loved it. I made it on a Genesis (gas) using direct medium heat and some apple wood chips that I had soaked. I marinated the chicken for 4 hours first. I kept basting it with the vegetable oil version after it was on the grill. When it looked done, I removed...

I need a cover for my Genesis

I got the Weber cover intended to fit the Genesis. I have to say it's the one thing I'm not happy with when it comes to Weber products. Everyone on Amazon complains about the rain but my problem is with the material itself... It's cracked and tearing all over for no good reason. No idea what...

    Roadside She-Cone Breasts

Thanks for the info. I am from northern Virginia. Baby Q was actually my first Weber, when I was living in a small place. Now I'm using a Genesis and absolutely loving it.

    Roadside She-Cone Breasts

I am new here, but this looks so good. I haven't heard of roadside... is this what you used? 1 cup white vinegar 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce 1 tbs. Sea or Kosher salt 1 tbs. white sugar 1 tsp. garlic powder 1 tsp. onion powder 1 tsp. white pepper
