I have the portable tool set 6645 and like them. I use them more than my full size set now. Even though it says portable, they're still pretty big. I've never seen the q set in person, but I agree they looked more cheaply constructed online.
That's not a heat shield, it's an ash catcher. On the gold the vents are on the sides so no ash escapes which makes it more portable, but also inhibits air flow.
I'm not sure it makes sense to put much money into it if you're selling it. I'd just stick it on craigslist as is. I'd guess $100 if it needs that much money put into it.
Check out the genesis EP-310 at Amazon or Ace Hardware. It is like the E-310 but has the stainless steel flavorizer bars and grates. I don't own it but am a huge fan of stainless steel now that I've had to replace my cast iron grates on my non-weber gasser a few times.
