    Auber vs. iQue

Ditto..Ditto..Ditto I have had my 110 for over a year now and am very satisfied. I have smoked everything from turkeys to briskets with no problems. I have smoked in ALL kinds of weather. Can't ask for better service or a better product for the money.

    Pittmaster IQ 100

Did you build it exactly like the vid? Battery powered? Would you post a pic? Thanks Bob Hey Bob - To answer your question, yeah I built the box just like the video suggests. Please note that you will need to get a deep box so that there is enough space under the elbow, when turned down, to...

Temp for Turkey had IQue 110 Struggling

I agree with you Alan. It kinda of struck me funny. I also laughed at the "I have no idea how it tasted" comment. I couldn't tell you why. I think next time I will open the bottom two vents about half way and see how deep the rabbit hole goes. Thanks for the input.

Temp for Turkey had IQue 110 Struggling

Cooked a 12-13 lb Turkey. Tried to get the temps up to 325-335 but had no luck reaching it. It settled in at 300 deg with the IQue running wide open for the entire cook. I had plenty of charcoal, the outside temp was around 40-45 deg and was running with an empty foiled pan. I understand...

Over the river and through the woods......

yeah this is probably my answer. Before I smoke I plan on running my hand under the skin to separate large sections from the turkey. This I think will help crunch the skin a little more. When I get to the house, I will fire up the grill oil the bird and see if I can crust it up again.

Over the river and through the woods......

Very cool I have "Famous" BBQrs commenting. What a treat! Now for my whining session... Yeah, thought about it but I would be packing my WSM in a Lincoln. You probably can imagine some of the issues I would have with this, but would be willing. Here's where I really start to whine... I...

Alligator Clip on the IQue 110

Pulled the alligator clip off of my probe, finally. I drilled a hole through the top of the clip. I slide my probe through the gromet attach the alligator clip to the grate and slide the probe through the new holes. Works great!

Over the river and through the woods......

I have wrapped turkeys and briskets the same way and haven't had any problems with temp or drying issues. I wrap it a few times in foil then I wrap it in towels and put it in the cooler. Breast side down. I take the Breast to 165. I would rather have my breast a little dry on the outside...

    Frying Turkey Caution

Another tip I use is I dry the turkey as best as I can. I then put it in the oven at the lowest temp for five or so minutes to dry it out more. I then take it directly to the frier. Reduces a lot of spattering. Another thing I do is I turn off the burner right before I put the turkey in...

Over the river and through the woods......

cool - thanks I was thinking I could inject some clarified butter just under the skin in a few places before I put it in the oven. May help re-crisp quicker...maybe??

Over the river and through the woods......

I am smoking a turkey for Thanksgiving at my sister's house. I cook it at 325 because I love crispy skin but it takes about 45 minutes to get to my sisters. I have always used the cooler-towel-foil method but as you know it turns my yummy skin into gummy shoe leather. Does anyone have any...

My Review of the Pitmaster iQue 110

This is exactly what I have experienced with mine. Perfect review! I previously had wanted to remove the alligator clip, so I could use my gromet. I decided not to and just went through the top of my WSM. Two weekends ago I was smoking a turkey and accidently dropped my lid. The probe wire...
