What do you do with empty one pound propane tanks?

Thinking the Milton valve core remover would likely work. Valve remover

26 inch performer Cedar and 2x3s

Yes the tank is inside the cabinet and while it looks better that way it certainly does take up a good bit space. With a tank mounting kit in hand I did ponder mounting it under the burner but feel it would be a closer to the flame than I was comfortable with at the time. Mostly just use the...

26 inch performer Cedar and 2x3s

Had to get rid of the star-board and replaced it with a slab of granite so it now should be burn and weather proof.

I don't think this will buff out

Prior to pounding it out, heat it up really first as hot metal moves easier than cold steel.

    26" kettle shelf options

No space, bummer. I would then consider building a frame similar to the 37" ranch model then you could easily pop a shelf on it. The main advantage is it will be way more stable than the 3 legged tri-pod, add wheels and you can easily move it around. Just a thought and fairly easy to do if...

    26" kettle shelf options

I broke down and built this for my 26" sometime ago and now I'll be removing the top and am placing a piece of granite on it as the starboard is less than flame resistant, lol.

Could anyone tell me what tools I'd need to break down a SS Performer . . .

Find a friend with a truck, lol would be even easier.

Will Weber sell me a metal Performer table top?

For them dollars I'd be looking for a small piece of granite!

Weber Summit E6 - Now Selling on US Weber Site

Shame weber didn't add a port in the side for thermometer cables.

Thinking of swapping out the Performer to a 26”

Well you could swap the 22" bowl for the 26" on the performer or go about thinking on how to mod the performer to add the 26 to the other end. If it were me in that predicament I'd likely figure a way to add it to the performer for a dual grill.

    gasket Recomendation

High Temp silicon seal may work nicely for that as it sticks really well. Cover the opening with wax paper, put a nice bead on the cover and mount it and let it dry. Once dry remove the cover and peel the wax paper off and your done. I'd try to find the 2000 degree silicon.

    Ash Bowl Removal

Richard, you may want to take a small round file or some emery cloth and stroke all the contact points, add a dab of grease or wd/40. May help remove any burr's and slick's it up a touch.

    Welding blanket on 26" Kettle

I would imagine one would carefully mark and then cut a hole followed up with a needle and thread to mend the cut.

    Giving up your gasser?

Had 2 different Weber gassers for over a 30 year period, now I have a back up 22" and a 26" kettle. Really don't see myself going back to gas, the only plus side for gas to me is the convenience, but it loses dramatically in all other categories.

    Master-Touch with new-style Lid Bale

May want to try adding some weight to the ash pan, something like a steel weight.

    Performers metal table rusty

Tom, I would suggest neutralizing the rust prior to prime and paint. The wire brush isn't going to cut it and you'll see new rust popping up in the same place. Home depot and get some evapo-rust or some of the spray on type and go from there.

    "Kettle Snake" attachment

Am I the only one that thinks that it lacks capacity needed for a long burn? When I bank coals, I place a number of old 4"x6" sections of old cut up SS grates against the porcelain and place a SS ring on inside to hold the coals in place. Makes for a long snake if needed.

Performer Taking Forever To Cool Down

Chris while you are going through the hassle of breaking this down, run up to hardware store and replace the factory nuts with stainless nuts and washers.
