    I hate apartments.

When I moved here I bought a grill. I asked and was told I could have one, as long as I use it 10 feet away from the building, as per fire code. Well now they said it can no longer be stored on my CEMENT PATIO. They said it would need to be stored in my garage (500 feet away) or in my closet...

    Went trashing.

Was spring clean up week in a nearby town. Thought maybe I could score a nice Weber. Found two... 1. A big Genesis Silver C like the one below. But there was no way it could fit. 2. Another large Genesis, like a 3000, but with a GREEN LID. Was hoping to find a Genesis 1000 or a fairly new...

Why do gas grills not have temperature controls?

I have always wondered why gas ovens have a temperature you can set it to. But if you want to cook say a pizza on a grill, you have to fiddle with the high-medium-low to get it close to 400. I've never seen gas grills with a knob that shows the temperature.

Idea for firebox and hood cleaning.

Befriend a place that rebuilds engines, a lot of them have a tank they soak engine blocks in. Could probably have them soak your hood and firebox cheap. I've used them before, they take every speck of baked on grease off. Would be a lot less mess than manually scrubbing/grinding one.

    Grates upside down?

On the OEM Cast Weber grates, they have little "corners" and the grates are supposed to be flat side up. On the aftermarket ones I ordered..if I were to turn them so the flat side faces up, the corners would also point upwards. Is there any issue with this?

Grills at Sams Club and Home Depot

I went to both earlier looking around. Check out this HUGE 8 burner "event grill". At Home Depot..I ran across a Kitchenaid Grill. Didn't realize they made them. Then spotted something odd. I'm surprised this made it past quality control, terribly plated chrome. In case the pics don't show...

Eyes hurt when using a grill.

Anyone ever have this issue? I notice when I grill, the smoke/steam whatever hits my eyes and they hurt like I've chopped up onions.

Red head I saw at a consignment shop.

They wanted $44.99 for it. Looks like something that was found along the curb. This shop is usually high priced, but sometimes they mess up, it's why I stop in sometimes. The grates are shot, the side table is missing, and the frame has some rust on it. Last but not least, BOTH sides of the...

    Silly question but...

When driving around...does anyone else look at people's yards to see what kinda grill they have?

The start of a 2012 Weber Sprit 2 Burner refurb.

Here is the grill as found when I bought it for $40 on Craigslist. Yes, it does have the burners, bars and grates. One hour of bar keeper's friend and degreaser later. Weber is sending me a couple pieces which I will show being replaced once they arrive. Also have new cast iron grates and...

    A few questions, new here.

So I started grilling this year and used a Char-Broil gas kettle. Liked it, but a pain to clean the "tru-infared" grates. I found a 2012 Weber Spirit for $40 on Craigslist. Needed a few parts, which Weber supplied me with. The lid on said grill is under warranty, but Weber stopped making said...
