    horizontal burners function

I have an 2007 Genesis and use it weekly. Depending on what I am grilling, for indirect, I normally go with the front burner only. For smaller items, I may go with front and back burners. If I want to add smoke, I have found pellet tubes work better than wood chip boxes, even the one from Weber...

Trying to choose a portable gasser

Kev, I have used nothing but Weber products since 1978. However, I was scheduled for a number of site surveys in upstate NY just before the pandemic hit. After it hit, I decided that I would make a big road trip out of it (I live in San Antonio, TX) and was planning on being self-sufficient to...

    Will a WSM benefit me?

Andy, I have used a 22" kettle since 1978. It took me a year or two to really discover what it could do. I have had the 18" WSM since early 2017. I agree with many of the comments already made on this forum. That said, I am a "fit for purpose" guy. While the kettle is a master on the grilling...

Water pan directly up against lower grate - 22"

Jacob, I agree. I do not use the pan when hanging ribs. Tom

Water pan directly up against lower grate - 22"

Thanks, Tim. If the experiment does not work, it will certainly not have been the first time a cook of mine went awry! While the dimensions of the foil pan might not match up with those of the water pan, the foil pan will still act as a modified heat deflector.

Water pan directly up against lower grate - 22"

I have a different question related to use of the water pan. I have an 18" WSM and unless I am using a hanging rib rack, always use my water pan (foiled). My question is this........might it be acceptable to use a rectangular disposable foil pan on the bottom rack instead of the water pan and...

Rib Hanger on 18” vs 22” WSM

JP, I have the Gateway Rib Hanger for my 18" WSM. I agree that some racks of ribs are a little too long but I have never had any cook that did not come out great. I have not tried this combo with any other meat such as chicken. On my list!

How do you prevent water from building up inside WSM when stored

I have just started using a large trash bag under the non waterproof Weber cover. Did so after buildup of a lot of mold from moisture inside WSM. That is a very cheap option........time will tell. Tom

    Mold build up in WSM

Gentlemen, I washed down the interior, ran a double load of charcoal as recommended in the guidance and followed up with an after wash. So far so good. As background, when I began the cleaning process the bottom bowl was about 1/3 full of water so the heavy rains of Sept made their way into the...

    Mold build up in WSM

Thanks Chris. I always keep my WSM covered (with the cover that came with the smoker from Weber) when not in use. Also, I keep it on a covered patio when not in use (but at the edge of the patio so it can still get wet in a driving rain). I will use a yard bag as you suggest (under the Weber...

    Mold build up in WSM

I have had a 18.5" WSM for a little over two years and love it. I store my charcoal chimney starter inside when not in use. I keep the WSM cover on the unit when not in use and leave all vents open to circulate air. Today, I uncovered the smoker to get the chimney out to use with my Weber kettle...

Replacement Dome Thermometer for Weber Genesis E310

I would like to replace 10+ y.o. OEM thermometer in my Genesis E310. Am considering Tel-Tru brand. I do not want to have to enlarge the current stem hole. Any advice on a replacement thermometer that does not require drilling out the hole? I recently replaced the OEM thermometer on my WSM...
