Mine looks similar to the setup above, I scavenged an old fitting from an old regulator hose lying around:
I believe the fitting itself can be purchased separately new, it's called a QCC1 connector:

I'd recommend using yellow teflon tape...
If it was a 2005, it would have had the stainless cabinet doors with the sheetmetal bottom panel.
I also think it was a 2000 or 2001: https://tvwbb.com/threads/2001-weber-genesis-series-gas-grill-brochure.75068/
I have the Weber griddle that I bought 2nd hand (it was like-new when I bought it)
It was sold as an accessory to the Spirit 300 series, but they fit Genesis 1-5000 series and Silver/Gold also.
I'd be interested to know if the correct part is sent... I used that youtube video as reference and ordered a 1/4" npt x 3/8" flare fitting from a different vendor (Amazon). And of course, the npt side of the fitting was way too large on the fitting that arrived. I ordered a 1/8" npt x 3/8"...
Another specimen has popped up on CL, although the previous example was cleaner:

Ok, so it is a 2000-2001 Gold C.
@BobJ just picked one up here and he also is looking for a suitable cover:

Keoni,
Dimensionally, the 2000-2001 Golds and the 2002-2004 Golds are way different. The 2005 is similar to 2002-2004 but it's a bit taller.
Which one do you have? If it's really 72 inches it sounds like the 2000-2001...
Apparently, I had missed out on the previous 8-page thread regarding the LED retrofit on the 9057, and hadn't seen it until just now:

On my 9057, there's a short somewhere and only one side lights up...
