I'm looking for a lid for a 14" WSM. If anybody has one they don't need and is willing to ship it to me, please let me know.

Turns out it was decal. I used oven cleaner and a razor blade to get it off. It came off pretty easy. Thanks for the help.

I just picked up a 14” WSM that has a Bud logo printed on it. I’m thinking of trying to take it off. Will it hurt the ceramic coating if I use something like acetone?

I turn it on as soon as I dump the lit coals onto the unlit coals.

I use a PartyQ on my 14" and it works great. No problems at all.

Love my 14" WSM. I use a clay saucer from a flower pot instead of the water pan. It helps retain the heat and reduces the amount of coal you will use. I use one in all my smokers.

Didn't think about using a drip pan. Thanks for the help.

Scored a deal on a used 2 year old WSM this week that is in pretty good shape. It's missing the water pan, but I don't use that anyway. I use a clay saucer from a flower pot instead. The only other issue with it is the last owner used the heat shield in place of the water pan and ruined it...

I just picked up a used two year old 18.5" WSM the other day for $50, and the last owner used the heat shield (the one that sits between the legs) as the heat deflector (in place of the water pan) and burnt the crap out of it. I called Weber and they want $25 for a new one. I'm not sure it's...

On my 18.5" I can get 10-12 hour, and I can get 8-10 on the 14". I also use it on my mini that I built and can get 8 hours on that. Mine holds temp great. At most it goes 10 degrees higher, but doesn't stay there long.

I just drilled a hole big enough for the adapter of my PartyQ to fit in on the side of the WSJ. No need to add another vent on the side. I can post a pic if you want to see it.

Let's see, I have 3 smokers ( 18" WSM, 14.5" WSM, and a mini WSM that I built) and a 22" Performer Deluxe with gas assist. It depends on what I'm cooking/smoking at the time on which one I use. The Performer gets used the most. The smokers get used on the weekends/holidays.

You can. Just be careful when you drill the holes.

I fill the ring with charcoal, pull 10-12 out of the center and put them in my chimney. One they are ready to go, I dump them in the center of the pile where I pulled them from.

No issues with the PartyQ at all. I assemble the smoker, put the meat on and turn the PartyQ on at the same time. I figure the temp is gonna drop when I add the meat anyway, so why not do it all at the same time.

I can get 10 hours at 235. I keep the water pan empty and just cover it in foil. I use a PartyQ on mine
