Slow N Sear Low Profile for WSCG overkill or a worthy upgrade?

I debated long and hard about getting a WSCG but the price scared me off. I went with a Weber 26" kettle instead

Slow N Sear Low Profile for WSCG overkill or a worthy upgrade?

I have a SnS for my 26" kettle and absolutely love it. Did a 15 lb. full packer brisket last week and it turned out great. I struggle to fit big briskets on a 22" kettle but the 26" has plenty of room. The SnS is a must have for Weber kettles IMO. I use my WSM for pork buts and chicken typically.

Do 26" ever go on sale?

Just got my 26" a few months ago and love it! Can easily do a 15 lb. packer brisket with no issues. Pairs well with the Slow and Sear. On the 22", I would often have to trim a piece of the end off to make the brisket fit. No more

    Weber Family Portraits

Here is my "family" Picked up the stainless steel prep table for $100 and the Hobart slicer for $300 from an online auction site from a local restaurant that closed. From right to left, my new 26" kettle, double stacked 18" WSM, 18" WSM, 18" kettle, then three 22" kettles. All Weber...

Slow and Sear accessory for Weber kettle

Dude, I am "just a member" at the Pit. I have zero connection to the SnS company, not sure how you inferred that. The owners of the Adrenaline BBQ Co. are indeed mods there Doesn't take away from the SnS being a great product

Slow and Sear accessory for Weber kettle

To be more clear, it fits a multitude of kettles, not just Weber's. I have six Weber's, so I was focused on what I have.

Slow and Sear accessory for Weber kettle

I am a member over at amazingribs.com Pitmaster club and some guys there have come up with a GREAT invention for the Weber kettle. It is called the Slow and Sear (SnS). It creates a nice two zone setup to turn you kettle into a top notch smoker. The ingenious part of it is that the top is open...

    Grommet Mod For New ET-732

I don't have the tools for that cut and I would most likely screw it up. A hole is easier to drill for me. I have already drilled many holes for the hinge. Thanks for the suggestion though. I had seen that mod and did consider it although I like the hole better as it is between the grates.

    Grommet Mod For New ET-732

I found the threaded pipe nipples at Home Depot but they couldn't find any nuts that would work. I went across the street to Lowe's and found the same thing, but a different brand. Right next to the pipe nipples were a set of sixteen assorted locknuts. Four of the locknuts fit the threads so I...

Has anyone stacked another mid secyion on an 18" WSM?

I had originally put the new section on top of the old one and that is where I saw the big space issues. Realizing I would have to clean the lip to adhere the gasket, I figured I would use the new section on the bottom as the lip was new and clean. Lo and behold, the old unit fit almost like a...

Has anyone stacked another mid secyion on an 18" WSM?

Thanks for the feedback! Going to use the gaskets to see how good of a seal I can get I will look around for some more examples of stacked sections.

Has anyone stacked another mid secyion on an 18" WSM?

Bought a used 18" WSM and the guy had an extra mid section. I put it on top of the existing mid section but it didn't have a good fit. He also gave a hinge and gasket kit from CB. My question is will the gaskets give a good enough seal for an effective long cook? TIA
