2000 Genesis Siliver B Frame Connectors Rusted

Hi all, I have an older Genesis Silver B that is fairly clean except for the frame connectors which have rusted out. I removed the lower tray for the photos. I contacted Weber but they do not stock these parts anymore. I hit the welded portion of the frame with my Die Grinder and wire wheel to...

Looking for good BBQ in the Tulsa area

Can anyone recommend a good bbq restaurant in the Tulsa area? I'm actually staying in Jenks right now for the next few days. This is a rare treat for me since good bbq is rare where I live in Southern California.......

What are your Favorite Ribs to cook on the WSM?

For some reason I've only cooked Baby Backs on the WSM and would like to try something different. BBQ is not huge in my area but the last time I had spares at a restaurant they were very fatty. I like beef ribs but there's not typically a lot of meat on the bones. From the discussion here...

Are there discounts/credits on the Performer from Amazon?

I know that Chris gets discounts or credits if we buy a WSM through Amazon? I'm thinking about buying another Performer and would like to pass on the credits to the website if possible. Can someone explain to me how this arrangement is setup?

    Replacing Weber Stainless Burners

I have an older Genesis Silver B. The crossover burner is shot and needs to be replaced. The main burners still look good. I don't see any plugged or damaged holes. Not exactly sure what else to look for. Can I just replace the crossover tube or should I replace the entire set?

Where do you buy your smoke wood?

I've been buying my wood from my local Barbeques Galore store. It's costing me a fortune. I'm assuming most of the pros here buy wood in bulk or cut down their own trees. Where do you get your smoke wood?

Does BBQ tend to raise your bad cholesterol values?

I've always been very healthy. I work out regularly and ride my road bike over 100 miles per week. My cholesterol values have always been well below the danger level. At the last checkup with my doc, he noticed my bad cholesterol reading has increased. He asked me if I have made any changes...

    Do you wash your meat?

I know this sounds strange but I have a question for everyone here. Do you rinse off your meat with running water before you trim or add your rub? I'm talking about Brisket and Pork Butt mostly. None of the recipes here mention washing off the blood/gunk before cooking. In the Brisket...

12" or 14" FLower Pot Base

OK, I want to try using a clay flower pot base. Which size would be preferred to use with the stock Weber pan? I've heard people rave about the 14" pot with the "36" stamped on it. Other people say using a 14" will affect the heat output of the lower rack. These folks say to go with the 12"...

Water Pan versus Clay Pot or Sand

I normally use my water pan but I have cooked with sand a couple of times for longer cooks. Honestly, I couldn't tell the difference with my temperature control. It was less hassle using sand though since I didn't have to worry about running out of water. I have a basic question here. Doesn't...

    Baby Backs: 3-2-1 or 2-2-1?

I have a couple of Baby Back slabs in the refrigerator with rub on them for the football games tomorrow--go Chargers. Anyway, I haven't cooked any spectacular baby backs so far on my WSM. I don't think I've cooked them sufficiently yet in three attempts. I want to try foil this time to make...

    Jim's All Night Brisket

I've had good success with Pork Butt, Baby Backs, Brined Turkey, Chicken, and some other recipes. I think I'm finally ready to try Brisket on my WSM. There are so many different methods for Brisket that I'm confused. I have the Weber's Charcoal Grilling book. There's a recipe by Jim Minion that...

How do you light your Weber Chimney?

Just curious how most of you folks light your Weber Chimney? I've followed the Weber instructions by using two sheets of newspaper. This method leaves lots of newspaper ash on top of my grate though. How do you light your Chimney?

Just purchased an older Performer on craigslist

Hello, first time poster here. I've been a lurker for awhile now. Anyway, I just purchased a used blue Performer from Craigslist for 35 dollars in Southern California. My model doesn't have the gas starter though--really bummed. I just learned that the gas unit was optional prior to 2000...
