    Another part question

    Originally I wired the display using a piece of ribbon cable. It turned out OK, I guess, except that I wired the display upside down (doh!). When I re-did the wiring, I could not find a local source of ribbon cable with 0.1" pitch, so I just went point-to-point. It's hackish/unprofessional...

    I just built a HeaterMeter with the same 4x20 display. I installed a 0-ohm jumper and it's working fine.

    Heatermeter Parts

    I think I answered my own question. There is an alternate part at Mouser (p/n OKI-78SR-5/1.5-W36-C) that looks exactly like the the original, except the 3 pins are bent 90 deg rather than straight up. I think it will work.

    Does anyone have a suggested replacement for the DC/DC converter (IC1, p/n OKI-78SR-5/1.5-W36H-C)? It's out of stock at Mouser, Digikey & Newark. Thanks for any suggestions.
