    Just got a used Q-300

I've been charcoal only for the last 5 or so years with the SMC and platinum kettle. I decided it was time for a gasser. Got a real deal on used 300 on craigslist. It was a toss up between the 300 and the Spirit 310. Thanks to Phil and others who've posted some great info about the 300. Now...

Is there a light for the Q-300 ?

I have a chance to get a Q-300 used and wonder if there is a light that can be purchased for the handle. The 220 and 320 have them but I haven't found one listed for the 300. I've seen a few on eBay but they state not for the 300. The Weber site does not show a light for the 300 but the 320...

New digs for WSM and kettle

Not a new house but a new patio. Space on the deck was just not enough for a WSM and Platinum. The kettle was originally up against the outside deck railing on the ground but moved for the workers. Here is a photo before they started today.

    Bag of Brine - poultry

The volume of this brine will fit nicely into a 1 gallon ziploc bag along with a 3 to 4 lb chicken. (my chicken was spatchcocked) You should have little to no extra brine depending on the size of your yardbird. 1 pt - apple juice 1 pt - water 1/2 cup - maple syrup 1/4 cup - kosher salt 1/4 cup...

    Saturday Shoulder - 1st one

I beat the sun up here this morning to check on my 1st shoulder. Darn it. I cannot find butt around my general area so I had to settle for a picnic shoulder. Anyone heard have experience with Smith Farms? On to the details. Started with a 10.5 lb shoulder with skin removed and gave it a liberal...

Deck boxes, carts, and bbq storage

I've done a few searches of the forum and couldn't find much on the topic. Sorry if I'm exibiting poor query skills. I've been looking for something small to locate next to the WSM on the deck for storage and food prep. Size was important as I have a small deck. I decided on a Suncast...

8 Rolled Racks and Guests with Drool

With the wife out of town in Las Vegas, I decided to load the WSM for a small gathering at the house yesterday. Loaded the WSM with Kingsford (1st time using in the WSM) and off it went. 4 rolled racks of bb's on each grate. The cook was about 5.5 hrs in total with a top grate temp avg of 230...

    My 1st Smoke Filled Weekend

Hello all, My name is George Higgins and I wanted to update you on my guestbook post from last week. Thanks Jim for the welcome. Last Friday I was able to locate a WSM 2820 close to home. It was the last one in stock so I made no bones about getting to the establishment to purchase it. $179...
