    Dan, I understand the concept, however can't you just use less charcoal in the 22 ring with the same results, i.e. fuel is fuel regardless of the container. I guess what I am trying to say is, let say for instance you have a Ford Pinto with a 10 gallon gas tank and one with a 20 gallon gas...

    Stoker on a 22" WSM

    Pretty much everyone I have spoke to says the 10 without hesitation...that thing is BIG! I just got mine today and also purchased the Stoker with a 10 CFM fan. I will be cooking some butts this weekend, but decided I want to go primitive (without the stoker) for the first cook.

    Pat, I have a black performer I just pick-up yesterday. I have had only one cook on it and I love it. I do have another questions, when cooking steaks, as I mentioned above as to the cut and the doneness, i created two zones in my Q, but read a post where you should still have some charcoal...

    I just had to mention that I ordered a WSM 22 and just discovered the the whole Automatic Temperature/blower sub-culture. I have been smoking for about a year now on a Brinkmann, which is a piece of crap, at least my model. It has no draft vents and maintain temperature on that is like trying...
