I just bought a SmokeFire at the Lowes in Nampa, Idaho. It will be assembled and delivered this coming Friday. They had it in stock and I was told they are carried in stock your round. They have a EX6 on display and up until 2 weeks ago also had a EX4 on display. Two days ago when I bought...

Should I get a charcoal grill?

Congrats on the Performer. I have a Performer, a 22 inch WSM, and a 20 plus year old Weber Genesis 1000. My wife will only use the gasser, and I use mainly the Performer and the WSM. The Performer is the most used and you will love it. Many on the site can give you advice on how to make the...

It's been a while, guys... Spruced up my father's gasser and cooked Easter Dinner.

You knocked both the rehab and the cook out of the park. The compound butter sounds wonderful.

Hardware parts list for Genesis restoration - what parts did you buy?

Those types of parts I either had in stock or went to Home Depot. Proprietary parts all came from Weber. Wish I could help with part numbers but don't have any. If you have a HD or Lowe's near you, I would check them first. Good luck on the restoration and post pics as you go.

    Hello from the Keystone State

Welcome to the forum Alex. That is a wonderful gasser and you will love doing that restore. We use our Genesis at least every week if not more. The only one of the grill my wife will use. You will have a great sense of accomplishment when you are done with the restore. Don't hesitate to ask...

The handle on my performer gets hot.

Remember that the WSM is running at maybe 300* or less, but the Performer is running at maybe 500* or more. Makes a big difference.

    Knives

Agree completely. Only difference is my Works Sharp is the Ken Onion Edition. Works great and am very happy with it. Keeps all my knives in great condition. That and a good steel is the way to go.

    Goin' Ham

Thanks for posting that Andy. With Easter coming up, I think I will resmoke the ham we are getting. Never done that before and I think it is about time. Plated pics look wonderful.

Order Now: WSM Smoke Day 13 T-Shirts & More

Chris, on the aprons, are the ties long enough to be tied on the front of the apron? Always have to have my wife tie aprons on my back. Always nicer to be long enough to wrap around and tie in front. TIA
