Tired of running multiple water filter systems

Line from RO package to tank(s) certainly don’t require more than 1/4” - remember the RO can only deliver a trickle If all of your demand is in kitchen, I honestly don’t think you would even need a second tank - remove it and store as a backup and minimize any biofilm

Tired of running multiple water filter systems

Residential RO production is a trickle of water The only place where you experience high flow is between the storage (bladder tank) and the fixture. If this section is relatively short - then 1/4” tubing is more than adequate If you absolutely cannot place the storage near the demand - then...

Tired of running multiple water filter systems

I think it’s just sort of like a “balloon” inside - I installed horizontally between joists and used plumbers tape strapped to adjacent joists. Make sure you have access to schrader valve for maintenance Product lines are between ro package and fixtures Place bladder tanks near fixtures -...

Tired of running multiple water filter systems

I strapped a bladder tank under the sink between floor joists once… RO system (filters, membrane and control valve) can be placed anywhere accessible for inspection and maintenance I don’t understand “tanks feed back to RO control block”

Tired of running multiple water filter systems

Most packaged residential systems are going to have membranes in the 5 to 10gal per day range - immediate demand will need to be supplied by your bladder tanks and made up with RO production in the 0.2 to 0.5 gallon per hour range

Tired of running multiple water filter systems

Yes you could upsize the tubing or place the tank(s) closer to your fixture with the greatest demand - ie drinking faucet

Tired of running multiple water filter systems

Sorry - I’m a geeky mechanical engineer that managed municipal and industrial water systems in a past life… Check the pressure of the tank when the RO is “full” - this will be your shutoff pressure Let’s check if your bladders are leaking or ruptured: Shutoff water supply to RO and open...

Tired of running multiple water filter systems

Check for air leaks at the schrader valve and the internal bladder (several ways to do this dry and wet) A few important pressures to note: pressure required for ice maker operation and RO system pressure at shutoff I didn’t watch the whole video, but didn’t notice him checking pressure of his...

    Question about my 1994 Performer

I just took a look at my SSP and you might consider keeping the flame king. I’m in the same situation as you and have a 5lb flame king tank from another grill waiting in the wings for when I empty my original Manchester tank. My solution will be to take a one inch length of 1/2” PEX, cut a...

    Kamado E6

Agree with Brett - regular kettle would need probably equivalent of 3 or more baskets for a rib cook. You may just want to run more fuel until you get a feel for the e6 Altitude would only affect cook if you were using water pan

    Curb Alert !!!

I already figured out most of the parts needed for restore Thread 'Vieluxe 44 Restoration' https://tvwbb.com/threads/vieluxe-44-restoration.98335/ As long as it’s the fuel you prefer, most parts can be fabricated or repurposed from other summits. Intact burners would be much preferred as oem...

Chuck, the color of your ribs are so much better than mine that I had crammed into rib racks. What fuel and wood did you use?

9 Racks of Babybacks on Kamado

At the 3h mark, when you are supposed to flip the ribs end over end, I noticed just about every rack was very pale. So I decided to alternately stagger the ribs by placing the thick end of each slab outside of the rib rack - so only the thinner parts of each slab were overlapping. This helped...

9 Racks of Babybacks on Kamado

Here is my Smoke Day meal cooked on Allingham’s former WSCG 6 racks were never enough for neighbors and family so I tried using two of the standard Weber rib racks - they fit! Here are some progress pic using the BRITU recipe here on tvwbb:

    Question about my 1994 Performer

If you convert to a 1# bottle - what would you use as a shutoff valve?

Tired of running multiple water filter systems

Remineralizing filter should work for your drinking faucet and espresso/coffee machine Just wondering what happens if you go away for vacation then get an initial slug of super mineralized water - Not a problem to dump to drain if you are filling a tank on the espresso machine, but if you are...

Tired of running multiple water filter systems

I’m a little confused as you said the softener is upstream of the RO and also from your drinking system and then also to the softener Softened water is beneficial for RO membranes, but is cost/benefit issue between softener operating costs vs membrane fouling. I’m guessing that your equipment...

Tired of running multiple water filter systems

Seems like a lot of the national coffee chains remove then add minerals to standardize the taste of their product. Even Costco bottled water (and many name brands too) do the same for consistency. If your source water is acceptable, you might look into using a less efficient RO membrane to...

    5 briskets in the WSM

How about grabbing a cheap Masterbuilt electric smoker off of CL to use as a holding oven? (Me thinking of a reason to keep my masterbuilt electric smoker around…)
