    Plan for turkey day?

I will doubtless make some sort of dressing. SWMBO likes it very much!

    Plan for turkey day?

It might be brisket here, we have all decided that doing a turkey is a waste of time. That’s right none of us seem to give a hoot in Hades about turkey! Shoo fly pie for dessert, DiL is doing Mac and Cheese (she claimed to have found a FABULOUS recipe! So I looked at her and said, great YOU can...

Looking for any info on wood laser engraving.

The “mask” is technically called “frisket” (rhymes with brisket!). Sandblasters use that kind of material todo headstones too. CNC carving is probably a good bet in my limited experience.

    Another bout with Big C

Praises to her guardian angel and thanks be to God! From the “Oven score” thread, I’m glad to double down on the good news! A good Pie, a glass of red, she will be right as the mail in the snap of your fingers!

    Weber Skyline Restored

I think the “fade” happens when they are left bare over a period of a few years through severe winters. You cannot “fix” it after it happens, just cover in the worst seasons and enjoy it until you pass it along to the next owner. It’s a little bit like a Patek Phillipe watch… “We do not “own”...

    Weber Skyline Restored

You know, finding that one for free makes me think you are far more lucky than I and we may not be friends! 😉🤣 Not really, you just were at the right place at the right time! I’m usually a month late and fifty bucks short! You’ve found the right place to help you get it restored to its original...

    What a score today!

I give you priest’s kid absolution!😉🤣 Mrs. Mixer is home? That’s fabulous news, talk about burying the lead though. I understand the glee in finding the pizza oven but, her return home is very good news! Prayers of thanksgiving for her successful hospital stay and continued improving health...

Brisket cook time whole vs separated point and flat

I’ve never separated flat from point. When I do briskets I seem to have a lot of folks that want to be around! I am pretty lazy when it comes to briskets, trim, rub, put it on about nine or ten PM and go to bed, a two probe thermometer, with remote by the side of the bed. I usually wake up...

Another Rotisserie Question - Weber vs OnlyFire

Good link Dan! It took me a while to dial in the “let the heavy side settle and install the weight “up”. concept but, it absolutely helps! Less drag and “bang” on the motor. Less stress, longer life!

Mines ten and works just fine too!

Another Rotisserie Question - Weber vs OnlyFire

I was gifted a Weber roti ring and am quite satisfied with it. The stainless might be a little easier to clean but, that’s the only difference that would matter for me. The enamel isn’t hard to clean either really.

    Self intro

Patience will be the MOST critical thing for the rehab. Remember, the enamel is NOT paint, it’s glass so, flat blade scraping with a razor blade beats coarse abrasives. I really feel like I’ve had good results with 4x0 steel wool and simple green or even Windex (final polish) treat it like glass...

    WSM Smoking too smokey

I think it’s less than optimal briquettes and smoke wood. Not kidding, the Fruitawood stuff is excellent!

    WSM Smoking too smokey

Damp charcoal can be an issue with that, I don’t typically use the normal minion method so, I can’t speak to that specifically. I use the Enrico Brandizzi “sidewinder” ignition technique. Fill the ring as normal (I put the smoke wood underneath Harry Soo method), and light through the door on...

    WSM Smoking too smokey

Mark, you’ve been a member for 20+ years and NOW you’re having second thoughts? Take some pictures of your “exhaust” color. Old coal, old smoke wood might be part of the issue but, you are asking the right folks to set you to right! The WSM is a pretty forgiving unit and with a little practice...
