That is a little newer one, but looks to have good bones. But, when going off the Weber reservation, just keep in mind that parts availability becomes orders of magnitude worse.
If I need steel, I usually check the FB MP for adds. My son also works as a welder at an outfit that makes huge vats for beverages and he has access to some scrap stainless steel. That is all they use there.
He made me some steps for my pickup out of the 304 Stainless and welded them to my...
LOL, I don't think I have seen that before. Having it set up that way would interfere with the slide or clip for the swing table. You would think that would make the owner realize something is wrong.
We had coast to coast stores as well growing up in SE Minnesota. My first shotgun (20 ga single shot) was purchased in a Coast to Coast HW store.
But, yah, I think that chain went under or was bought out by another chain a Looooong time ago.
I bought a ten pack and have used them on a few rehabs. I think I still have a couple left. Even though I now usually weld the failed connections, I do like having a couple sets of the connectors on hand as options.
The McMaster link I provided are ones that I have ordered and used in the past and was very happy with them. I could not find exactly what I wanted off Amazon or Ebay. But, I have not ordered or looked for them for a couple years.
IMO: The actual tube connecting nuts are superior. They don't have the exposed square flange and they have dual star nuts which should have better grip than a single star nut. And, after all, that is what Weber originally used. I do not know of a stainless version of them.
I used those before as well. But they are really designed to be used as table leveling inserts. They are not really designed as "Tube Connecting" inserts. They don't hold as well and the square flange on the end does not fit inside the tube, so it sticks out when installed.
I think most people have had a card compromised at some point. I have a couple times.
One time a bunch of charges for Itunes songs. Just a few bucks each. Must have been a kid. Another time someone used it down in Georgia at several places and charged up a couple grand in hours. Luckily...
