A Tale of Two Silver B's: Chapter Two - "The Block Party Grill"

I wonder why that is. While it clearly helps to be in or near a larger metro area, it just seems like you have an over abundance of good used grills with lower prices as well.

A Tale of Two Silver B's: Chapter Two - "The Block Party Grill"

They key to getting into welding is to find someone willing to mentor you a little bit at first. Getting started is the tough part. Once you can can get to a point of actually using a welder the right way, you are good. No, your welds won't look all that pretty at first, but they will do the...

Pretty nice paint job, if it is paint. If it is a decal, I would not want to be the one to fire it up and let it go to full temp.

Probably should be a Snap-On grill. All in all, aside from the custom paint job, it looks like a good rehab candidate. https://www.facebook.com/share/1CFMzume91/

Yah, I would have been a lot happier with a set of Z bars or even a set of 13 flavorizer bars.

Well, if we are into stocking spare parts for future projects, then just push it into the back yard until you need something off of it. OH, and the tank scale might be a keeper as well. Once you get a coupl out there in the coral in the back, they mysteriously multiply and by spring you might...

I know I had a set of #9930 grates on my Christmas list when I was 7. Santa gave me a sweater instead.

Grease tray looks iffy. Maybe it is just burned on carbon. But yah, the manifold would be worth a shot on ebay and that control panel looks pretty darn nice for an 8006. Maybe clean that up and ask for $15 or $20. Or offer them up in the for sale section here.

Yah, he was just looking for parts for his own grill and didn't want to have to deal with getting rid of the rest of it. I am guessing you could sell parts off it and make another $20 pretty easy if there are some good parts left. Grease pan, control panel, etc....

I am assuming the grill was rehabbed so if he got off with the lid, rack and tank for $20, he got a steal and if it was me, I would have either required payment in full or at least half before he left with the parts.

OK, how much did the guy pay you when he picked up the lid, rack and tank? Did he only give you $20?

    Refreshing my 2008 Summit S-670

Written word loses a whole lot of information that would be conveyed in a face to face or even audio communication. That is a big problem with texting, emailing and social media communications and this is a good example.

I think it is just a plain stainless lid and either coated with some kind of dust or tree sap or maybe even just a reflection from the green plants around it.

Quick partial disassembly of Weber genesis 1000

Well, it looks like acetone is a thinner for Rustoleum HH Ultra paint. I imagine you can let it dry and repaint it as is.
